Sara works in the Government of Kenya as the Chief Administrative Secretary within the Ministry of Education. Most recently, she was the chief executive officer of the PAL Network and Chairperson of Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development. Before her role as PAL Network CEO, Sara initiated the citizen-led process dubbed Uwezo in Kenya in 2009 and served as the Country Coordinator, before moving on to be the Regional Manager of Uwezo East Africa at Twaweza, a citizen-driven initiative that used evidence to draw public attention to children’s learning in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
