BACKGROUND
Zizi Afrique is committed to improving learning outcomes for children and youth furthest behind. It helps nurture and equip children and youth with learning, living and working skills. Zizi Afrique rolled out the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach through an accelerated time-bound learning programme. TaRL is proven to improve basic numeracy and literacy skills for children furthest behind.
ABOUT THE ACCELERATED LEARNING PROGRAM
The overall goal of the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) is to improve foundational competencies in reading and maths for children lagging in grades 3-5. The programme has rolled out interventions across three counties in Kenya: Turkana, Bungoma and Tana River. The intended impact is for all children to be able to read with understanding and work with numbers.
SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM
The programme is being implemented jointly with Safaricom Foundation and is inspired by the need to enhance all children's literacy and numeracy skills irrespective of region, gender or background.
