Maurits Spoelder

Educational Specialist
Maurits Spoelder is an education specialist with 15+ years of experience strengthening education systems and advancing foundational learning across low- and middle-income countries. His work combines programme leadership, results-based management (RBM), and learning assessment to strengthen teaching, learning, and system performance. Through roles with UNICEF and Education Cannot Wait, he has supported governments to design and implement national holistic (FLN and social-emotional)  learning assessments and link evidence to policy and programme delivery. Maurits holds an MA in Education and International Development (UCL) and has a background as a teacher and professional trainer, with a focus on competency-based approaches and system-level impact.
