The Peoples’ Action for Learning Network (PAL Network) is currently seeking a competent and energetic intern to join the Secretariat team, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. The Intern will support the Secretariat in administrative tasks and assist with program activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of: requisition for goods and services, payment vouchers, imprests and retirement of funds used for program activities
- Assist in uploading all program related finance requests to the appropriate platforms
- Assist in ensuring that specifications and deliverables for consultants and suppliers are prepared, payments are processed and the document cycle is closed on time
- Provide support in re-naming of all electronic documents according to the agreed naming convention and e-file accordingly
- Support in the organization and booking of meeting venues and accommodation for organized meetings;
- Support in the booking of travel arrangements including international flight itineraries
- Attend and fully participate in network and staff meetings as required
- Such other duties as may be required from time to time
Person Specification
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrable proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Gmail
- Strong attention to detail, excellent written English with a particular emphasis on accurate spelling and grammar
- Strong team player, willing to lend support and assist with a wide range of tasks
Terms and Conditions
- This position is offered as a three-month contract starting on 17 July 2017 with the possibility of extension for a further three months
- The standard working week is 40 hours per week.
